Commonwealth Games 2010 Overview
The capital city Delhi has always been a centre of attraction when it comes to politics, business or tourism. Apart from that, all the well facilitated sports stadiums tell the stories of various great sports personalities and glorious records. Such a fascinating destination is now chosen to host the 19th Commonwealth Games in October 2010. An Organizing Committee for Commonwealth Games is designed to take care of smooth transport, security and other factors.
Energy consumption
Currently, Delhi produces 4,500 MW of electricity, which is obviously very less for such a big event. Therefore, the Central Government is in a process to undertake a huge power-manufacture scheme that will help in increasing the power production to 7,000 MW. As per the scheme, direct additional energy will be provided to Delhi from the nearby regions as well as some new power plants will also be constructed. This way, the Government states that Delhi will have a surplus of power very shortly.
Security
The Government is also making arrangements for a tight security as this will be a huge event for the nation. Delhi Government will be deploying a force of 'Tourist Police'. All kinds of tourist related aspects will be handled by this special force. And this process will be followed by all the Indian states.
